Work, Work, Work

One of the things that I have been able to enjoy (ha.ha.) at IWA is a LOT of homework. I feel like I am always doing at least a week's worth of homework at one time. Freshman year did not seem too bad, but ever since sophomore year, its been quite inane. I always find myself up at insane hours of the night, writing papers, making display boards, doing monotonous math homework, or reading multiple chapters of a stupid, boring book. However, I believe that this is a blessing in disguise. Every time that I talk to a girl that has graduated from Incarnate Word, she always tells me how prepared she is now for college, and while others are struggling, she can handle school very well. So, as I sit here today, stressed over my AP Biology test tomorrow and the ten chapters that I have not read of Wuthering Heights, I am just thinking of the future, grateful for how prepared I will be next semester and anxiously awaiting the summer time!
So hopefully, when I put on that cap and gown, I will feel accomplished and prepared for whatever is next!

Last Semester

My name is Emily and it has hit me- its my last semester of high school. All of the hard work, the late-night study sessions, the park shops runs with my friends, the Discovery Green Christmas break parties, the masses, the formal dances, the assemblies, the gossip, the lockers, the uniforms, the sperrys -- has an expiration date. I cannot believe that the last four years have gone by so fast! I remember freshman year, thinking that this was going to be a long four years, but it hasn't at all. So I thought I would create a blog to remember the last semester and reminisce a little about the past four years. And they have definitely been unique.
They have been unique because I do not go to a normal high school. I go to an all-girls private school. In the middle of a city. We wear plaid skirts and Sperry's (hence the name). I also drive a good hour everyday to get there. It has been a hectic, insane, crazy four years, but I would not trade them for anything! I love my friends and the experiences I have gained.
So here's to a good last semester that will be unforgettable!
